A previous attorney had mishandled my case. I got arrested unaware that I had a deportation order. I called Mr. Pogue from a referral. He said it was tough and I may be on a plane for deportation anytime soon, but he would file papers to try to Stay my deportation and reopen my case. Next day I was flown to Louisiana and not allowed to make a phone call. The next day I was on a plane full plane of immigrants in route to deport me to Colombia. In Panama I was the only one they took off the plane and the deportation officer said “you’ve got a good attorney.” We went to court and I am now back to living and working in the US legally.

I had seen five different attorneys, a few are quite well renowned immigration attorneys, to try to prevent having to leave with Voluntary Departure back to the Philippines after the Board of Immigration Appeals had denied the appeal of my cancellation case argued by a respected previous attorney. They all said there was no hope, I had to leave. I then took a referral from a local attorney and went to attorney Pogue. He said he felt confident that we could win a Motion to reopen with the BIA. My daughter had a health condition that would have deteriorated and caused much suffering to the whole family if we had to live in the Philippines. Attorney Pogue reopened the case and won the case in front of a tough judge in Newark and I gained a green card. I tipped him significantly because his fee had been very reasonable and he had saved our family. I am now a US citizen and he is helping me in spite of very bad bureaucratic delays to help fix the case of my wife.

I and my future wife and many other people from Brazil had been defrauded by a notary. Each person’s case was so messed up and complicated that each of our future attempts by different attorneys failed. Mr. Pogue interviewed each of us separately, and found out that there was a massive fraud perpetrated by this notary who was later arrested in Florida and that we were innocent. He then, one by one, fixed our cases and eventually won, some in court, like mine. I had doubts, was frustrated, and suffered but thanks to Mr. Pogue, I got to travel back to Brazil to see my other parent while still alive, and I obtained my lawful permanent residence. We argued during the process, and it was tough to believe all the delays and legal hurdles to becoming legal, but now I have respect for and trust Mr. Pogue and am thankful for his loyalty and care.
