ABOUTTHE ATTORNEY

Michael Pogue has been practicing exclusively immigration law since 1998. He is licensed to practice before the Immigration Courts and USCIS and US Consulates abroad. He has been a member of the Michigan State Bar since 1998. He did Per Diem attorney appearances for several other immigration attorneys, traveling the US and world.
Before that, he worked as an associate attorney doing mainly business immigration cases for the Law Office of Anil Jethmalani, in New York, New York from 6/1999 - 1/2002. He started out as an associate attorney with Law Offices of N. Peter Antone, P.C. In Southfield, Michigan, near Detroit, from 10/1998- 5/1999.
Mr. Pogue was with the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Immigration Court, in Detroit, Michigan from 10/1997- 3/1998 as a Law Clerk where he did research and drafted decisions under advisement in an externship with Judge Walsh and Judge Hacker. He graduated from Thomas M Cooley Law School in Michigan in 5/1998. During law school he volunteered with Refugee Services, Lansing, Michigan from 10/1997- 5/1998. Sports Law Society V.P., Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, ABA, as well as International Law Section member, and Amnesty International.
He also attended University of San Diego Law School, International Law summer program Summer 1997 where he took Int’l Law & Litigation courses in Paris, France and Florence, Italy (earned the book award).
His personal activities and interests include international traveling, basketball (He has been a U.N./USA Affiliate, a Servas International host & traveler.
He graduated from University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1987. He was in the Honor’s College. He was a Member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity on campus.
Mr. Pogue is of French Canadian and Irish descent.
